What is XC-Glide?
XC-Glide is a free online tool for planning glider cross-country flights. Build a route on an interactive map, check wind-corrected headings and flight times, and export the result for use in the cockpit.
What makes it different
Unlike most free route planners, XC-Glide lets you add your own navigation points (turning points) and your own airspace zones — so a route can reflect exactly the waypoints and restricted zones relevant to your home airfield and region, not just a fixed public database.
Who it is for
Glider pilots planning their first cross-country flight after getting a licence, pilots preparing a 50 km or 100 km badge flight, and competition pilots who need a quick, wind-aware flight plan with airspace crossings called out leg by leg.
What you can do with it
- Build a route by clicking the map, dragging points, or importing a .tsk / .cup file
- Add custom navigation points and custom airspace zones
- See distance, heading, and flight time per leg — with and without wind
- Check which airspace zones a route crosses, and where along each leg
- Export the route as .tsk, as an .xlsx flight plan, or as a printable PDF with the map
- Save routes to your account and reload them later
Navigation point files
Download the current navigation-point database in SeeYou .cup format for use in your flight computer, tablet app, or other planning software. The format is compatible with XCSoar, the free open-source flight computer app used by many glider pilots.
